Gagan, I noticed "Persona Definition" in the definition stage of design, I am wondering if you were able to effectively use personas to help R&D, Sales, Support, PM etc. relate to problems/pains you were solving?

A lot of emphasis is put on Persona use and development in Pragmatic Marketing Trainings and in About Face (book by Alan Cooper), however I have not yet utilized them in the workplace. I was in the process of developing user personas at my previous company but did not stay long enough to see the impact directly.

Please share your experiences with regard to utilization of personas for interaction design.
